Saturday at the museum

We took Lilly to the NC Natural Sciences Museum on Saturday. She
had a good time looking at the live critters in the aquariums and
really seemed to enjoy the stuffed opossums.

There is a park within walking distance to our house so when the weather is nice we go to the park. Here Daddy is helping Lilly take some steps in the sand.

Lilly has started to enjoy the play areas at the local malls. She used to stay close by Mommy but now she is on the move!

Lilly had her first birthday party on Saturday. Lilly had her Nana, Grandma Peggy, Grandpa Nettie and Grandpa Carl, Uncle Trey and cousins Ryan and Connor join her in the celebration.

12 Month Check-up

Lilly had her twelve-month check-up this week. She apparently likes the number 25 because that is where she keeps finding herself on the growth charts. ( I know it is confusing for those who are not in the daily business of spouting off your child's stats, so here it goes: Lilly is in the 25 percentile for height and weight which means out of children Lilly's age, 75% are bigger than she is). She weighs 19 lbs and 10 oz and is 28.25 inches long. The doctor said she could even feel some lumps under the gums so we are on the lookout for the first tooth! Lilly had her first ear infection the week before and that was all cleared up but she caught a cold on her birthday so we are hoping we don't develop another ear infection! Daddy had caught her cold and he developed a sinus infection - so far Mommy is the ONLY non-sick member of the household (of the two-legged members at least)! I'm sure Mommy will catch it soon and it will linger forever!

At the park

It was such a beautiful day today, Lilly and Mommy went to the neighborhood park. Lilly had lots of fun handing rocks to Mommy (after being told not to eat them) and swinging on the swings.

Carousel Fun

Lilly is a big cousin!

Lilly is now a big cousin! Her little cousin was born on Monday, February 5, 2007 (that's right, on Daddy's birthday). Cameron Elizabeth weighed in at 8 lbs, 11 oz and was 21.25 inches long.

Now Entering the Ring!

Daddy had to referee a wrestling tournament on Saturday and we didn't know if he would be home in time to see Lilly before she went to sleep. So Lilly and Mommy went to the tournament for a short while. Lilly seemed to enjoy herself - clapping, shouting and crawling along the bleachers. She also picked up some pointers on wrestling and she now has her own distinctive take-down move. See for yourself.
